In her position as Of Counsel with Milton Law Group, Kimber L. Monroe primarily handles estate planning but also counsels small businesses, boards of directors, and tax-exempt organizations.
As an estate planning attorney with 20 years of legal experience, Kimber provides sound legal advice and insight to help protect her client’s assets during their lifetime and for their family’s future. She advises clients on all aspects of estate planning, administration, and settlement.
By routinely counseling clients regarding the effective use of living trusts and durable powers of attorney, Kimber helps families avoid the need for expensive and time-consuming guardianships and probate.
“This enables the families of our clients to settle the affairs of a deceased family member with minimum delay and at minimum cost,” Kimber said.
Before joining Milton Law Group, Kimber served as legal counsel at a Fortune 500 company where she provided complex legal advice on a variety of areas, including trusts, estates, retirement vehicles (IRAs, 401(k) and pension plans), financial products, and multi-million dollar enterprise-wide contracts.
Her extensive experience advising for profit and nonprofit board of directors includes boards with millions of dollars of assets under care as well as smaller nonprofit boards.
Kimber’s nonprofit work includes drafting and reviewing governance documents, meeting annual filing and reporting requirements, and forming tax-exempt 501(c) organizations.
As a nonprofit lawyer, Kimber counsels executives on corporate, regulatory, and tax matters all while constantly ensuring compliance to maintain the organization’s nonprofit status.
Prior to joining the Fortune 500 Company, she worked at large law firms where she specialized in business law and business litigation.
Kimber and her husband have 3 children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, entertaining friends, playing with her dogs, hiking, and watching college basketball.
