Mark Milton, Shine Lin named to Missouri Lawyers Media POWER List of Tax Attorneys
Mark C. Milton and Shine Lin were selected to the 2021 Missouri Lawyers Media POWER List of Missouri Tax Attorneys. Mark and Shine are two of only 26 tax attorneys statewide chosen to receive this industry-leading designation.
The POWER List highlights the most powerful people who lead and influence the tax law practice area in the Missouri legal community.
Selections for the POWER List of Missouri Tax Attorneys are the result of an extensive process that included deep reporting and research by the Missouri Lawyers Media editorial team, interviews with respected attorneys and other influential leaders around the state, and a review of the outcomes and impact of significant cases handled by these attorneys as well as others in the tax practice area over multiple years.
Unlike the publication’s awards event programs, which are peer-nominated, the POWER List of Tax Attorneys is an editorial project and did not involve external nominations. The Missouri Lawyers Media team reviewed all attorneys throughout the state who practice tax law.
As the Managing Attorney of Milton Law Group, Mark C. Milton leads a team of licensed attorneys and professionals with exceptional reputations with clients, counterparts, and colleagues.
After starting his career as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Tax Division, in Washington, D.C., Mark worked at an AmTop100 law firm in St. Louis specializing in tax controversies, white collar criminal defense, health care and securities fraud defense, corporate internal investigations, and business litigation for small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
He then opened his own boutique law firm to better serve individuals and small business owners facing tax problems, which includes a client list of other lawyers, CPAs, professional athletes, entertainers, and C-suite executives.
Using his extensive knowledge of IRS administrative procedures, Shine Lin has spent the past 15 years as a tax attorney successfully representing individual and business clients in all phases of federal tax controversy, including examination, appeals, collections, and litigation.
He has also handled a broad range of collection and criminal tax matters, in addition to substantial experience with preparing, filing, and pursuing tax whistleblower claims with the IRS.
